Sugar prices decline further on thin buying support

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices declined further on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Sugar of small and medium grades fell by Rs eight and Rs five per quintal, respectively, on lack of fresh demand.

Sugar of ex-mill small grade eased by Rs five per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure while medium grade rose by Rs ten per quintal, better buying support.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,758/1,796, medium grade: Rs 1,786/1,840.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,735/1,760, medium grade: Rs 1,760/1,800.
