French-Algerian deported to France from Britain

LONDON, Sept 15: A man with dual French-Algerian nationality has been deported to France from Britain on suspicion he poses a risk to national security, the UK's interior ministry said today.

''A foreign national who had been identified as representing a threat to the national security of the UK was yesterday deported to France,'' the Home Office said in a statement.

''The individual, who has dual French/Algerian nationality, is the third person to be deported from the UK on national security grounds.'' The deportation was carried out with the co-operation of the French authorities.

''Our priority is to protect public safety and national security. Where a foreign national living in the UK poses a threat to this country, we will seek to remove them, the statement said.''
