Rs 86.7 lakhs spent in paying ex-gratia in Manipur
Imphal, Sep 15 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today informed the House that the government has spent Rs 86.7 lakhs till 31 Aug in paying ex-gratia.
During the current financial year, a sum of Rs 10.72 lakhs was spend in providing relief to the people.
The Manipur government also provided relief to 685 persons of 155 displaced families of Churachandpur district, who took shelter in Mizoram, due to intense fighting between army and the militants.
State Agriculture Minister N Mangi informed that the House in the last two financial year the government has distributed tractors, power tillers, water pumps and sprayers to the farmers at subsidised rate.
Water pump sets were also given to the farmers under drought mitigation programme during Kharif 2005.
Commerce and Industries Minister T H Devendra said there is a scheme for registration of small scale industries, including rice and saw mills, in the state.
