Rains, landslide causes road blockade in Darjeeling

Siliguri, Sep 15 (UNI) Roads have been blocked in Darjeeling district since last night due to incessant rains and landslide in a number various places.

Traffic was standstill in National Highway 55 in Tindharia under Kurseong subdivision and Sevok on NH 31A yesterday. These two roads were totally blocked due to the landslide.

M K Pandey, Assistant Engineer of NH 55, told UNI that the roads would be repaired within two days.

Toytrain tracks have also been affected by the landslide.

Border Road Organisation(BRO) would renovate the NH 31A, the main link road from Sikkim and West Bengal.
