Rain lashes city

Visakhapatnam, Sep 15 (UNI) After experiencing hot weather for the last one week, the city was lashed by heavy rains this morning.

The cyclone warning centre official spokesman told UNI here this afternoon that under the influence of the monsoon activity in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, there were widespread rains in south coastal Andhra Pradesh' The strong surface winds blew from westerly direction with the speed of 45 to 55 kmph reaching north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Isolated hevy rains likely to be witnessed during the next 24 hours.
