Congress seeks Kumaraswamy Govt's dismissal

Bangalore, Sep 15 (UN) The Congress unit in Karnataka today demanded the Centre to dismiss the State Government headed by H D Kumaraswamy and order a CBI inquiry into the Rs 150 crore bribery allegation against him.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Mallikarjuna Kharge submitted a memorandum in this regard to Governor T N Chaturvedi he told reporters here that the party unit had urged the Governor to direct the authorities concerned to register criminal cases against the Chief Minister and the other beneficiaries -- his family members and Forests Minister C Chennigappa -- and arrest them.

He said the party was submitting a second memorandum to the Governor as there was no satisfactory development following the previous one in July.

The Governor expressed concern over the latest developments in the state and would initiate action after studying the evidence provided by the party in detail, Mr Kharge said.

He said the third CD released by suspended BJP MLC Janardhan Reddy was a clear and a conclusive proof that the Chief Minister and his entire family and colleagues were direct beneficiaries. It was further evident that the alleged bribe money had been invested in real estate by Mr Kumarswamy and his family.

He said he had submitted all details of the transaction regarding bribe money received by the Chief Minister for permitting illegal mining in Bellary.

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh, Leader of the Opposition in the Council H K Patil and former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah were among those who met the Governor.
