Political parties urge JIPMER employees to resume duty

Pondicherry, Sep 15 (UNI) Leaders of various political parties today urged the striking JIPMER employees to resume duty to ensure medicare to the poor patients.

In a joint statement here, the parties demanded that the employees drop the stir and hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss as well as the two Parliament members from Pondicherry to resolve their problems.

The leaders pointed out that when there was ample time to effect modifications in the proposed bill before it was placed in the Parliament, the strike was unwarranted.

The statement was signed by representatives of the Congress, DMK, CPI, PMK, BSP, RJD, JD(S) besides PMK parliamentary party leader Prof M Ramadass.
