New police posts in 27 UP districts to check crime
Lucknow, Sep 15 (UNI) To strengthen the law and order machinery, the Uttar Pradesh government today announced setting up of 71 new 'reporting' police posts in 27 districts.
A state home department official informed, the new police posts will cost Rs 2.36 crore to the UP exchequer.
''We have already taken the permission of the Delimitation Commission and the state election authorities to set up new posts,'' the official said.
The new posts would be set up in Ghaziabad (4), Gautam Buddha Nagar (3), Saharanpur (4), Mahoba(3), Hamirpur (2), Chitrakoot (2), Banda (4), Faizabad (5), Gorakhpur (3), Auraiyya (2), Etawah (3), Kannauj (10), Pilibhit (3), Badaun (2) Lucknow (3), Hardoi (2), Mainpuri (5) and Mathura (2).
A police post each would be set up in Bulandshahr, Mau, Jaunpur, Hatras, Ghazipur, Rampur, Bijnore, Ferozabad and Mirzapur districts.
