Naxals of CPI (Maoist) killed in AP
Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 15 (UNI) Two naxals of CPI (Maoist) party were killed near Telladevarapalli village of Chandampeta mandal here today.
According to police the special party had identified two naxals in the village when they were conducting combing operations. The naxals opened fire on the police party, and in the encounter, two naxals were killed.
The police identified one naxal as Murali, the DCS member, while the other naxal was yet to be identified. Both naxals belonged to Krishnapatti dalam.
During the encounter the commander of Kranthidalam, Jampanna, Jeevan Madhav Reddy, Karim Alias Chand Pasha, Suresh, Lalitha Alias Rajitha, Sunil, Saradha and Rama escaped.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Eluru range C V Anand said an MR rifle, a spring field rifle, 3 damaged magazines, 55 sp mm field weapon rounds and 101 8 mm rounds, 12 rounds of 12 bore rifle, as well as extremists' literature was seized from the spot.
He said the police also arrested Kattula Sanjivareddy (25) of Mamidivalasa and Konatala Mallayya of Kachluru of Devipatnam mandal.
He said that the Janasakthi Kranthi Dalam extorted money from various people. They collected lakhs of rupees from Pragathi Institute and also from several private parties in east and west Godavari districts.
He said the combing operations in the agency area was on to nab the escaped naxals.
