Muslim agitate against Pope's remarks
Bhopal, Sep 15 (UNI) Members of Muslim community here today staged a demonstration after offering Friday 'namaz' protesting against the recent comments made by Pope Bendict in Vatican city against Islam.
Holding placards, the protestors raised slogans against the Pope and sent a memorandum to the President in this regard, a release said here today.
Several leaders, including All India Muslim Tyohar Committee Chairman Ausaf Shahmiri Khurram, Kaluhind Jamiat Fraog Islam chief Maulana Anees Ahmed Naumavi and National Secularism Front of India Chairman Irshad Ali Khan Afridi, addressed the protestors.
The speakers criticised the Pope for unnecessarily linking terrorism with Islam, which has taught peace, harmony and brotherhood to the world.
