Metal price declines on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In the ferrous segment (per quintal), copper heavy eased by Rs 200 per quintal on increased offers by stockists while copper utensils rose by Rs 500 per quintal on reduced stock supply.
In the non-ferrous category (per quintal), copper wire bars and zinc slab fell by Rs 100 each per quintal, on lack of fresh demand.
Tin slab and nickel cathode came down by Rs two and Rs ten per kg, respectively, on thin buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,800, Copper utensils - Rs 32,500, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,700, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,000, Zinc slab - Rs 18,400, Lead ingots - Rs 6,700, Tin slab - Rs 525 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,680 (per kg).
