Madhu Koda to take oath as Jharkhand CM on Sep 18
Ranchi, Sep 15 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi today invited Mr Madhu Koda, an Independent MLA propped up by the UPA, to take oath as the new Chief Minister of the state on September 18.
The Chief Minister designate said the Governor asked him to prove his majority by September 25.
Mr Koda this evening handed over the list, claiming the support of one more MLA, taking the tally to 42 in the 82-member House.
Yesterday, he produced the list of 41 legislators.
After a brief meeting with the Governor, Mr Koda said the oath taking ceremonmy would take place at Morhabadi ground at 1500 hrs.
Yesterday, Mr Arjun Munda resigned without facing a trial of strength, paving the way for Mr Koda to form an alternative government.
Mr Munda-led NDA government was reduced to a minority following withdrawal of support by four Ministers on September 5.
