J and K to electrify all state villages by 2010
Srinagar, Sep 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government will electrify all the villages in the state by 2010.
Minister for Power, Rigzin Jora said the state government is determined to electrify all the villages and hamlets of the state still deprieved of electricity by the end of 2010 and upgrade the existing infrastructure.
He said various steps have been taken in this regard by the government with the liberal financial assistance provided by the central government.
The Minister called upon the engineers to speed up execution on various projects and render service to public with devotion and honesty.
He said Rs 20 crore was allocated annually under APDRP scheme exclusively for improvement, maintenance and repairs of damaged transformers, polls and conductors out of which, Rs 50 lakh was kept at the disposal of Deputy Commissioners to meet the emergency repairs of power system in their jurisdiction.
