Gowda accuses Bush policies for fuelling terrorism

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda today accused the policies of the George Bush administration in the US and its allies on Jehadi terrorism, of fuelling terrorism.

Deeply mourning the terrorist attacks on innocent citizens of Malegaon, Mr Gowda, who visited the blast prone areas of Malegaon in a statement said, terrorism did not have religion because many insurgent and separatist groups indulging in wanton violence in India and outside were not followers of Islam.

Terrorism has no religion and the answer did not lie in waging a war against the followers of one particular religion because every religion had its own liberal and fanatic following, he said.

He added that leaders like Mr Bush should visit Malegaon to understand that Muslims themselves were victims of the menace and to see how peacefully they had responded to provocation. India should not be guided by western line but pursue its own line assimilating all sections and rendering equal respect to all religions.

He also complemented his party workers in Maharashtra including former Malegaon MLA Nihal Ahmed and state President Sharad Patil in playing a key role in relief and rehabilitation activities after the blasts. "My party is committed to do every thing possible to help the people", Mr Gowda said adding that it was not the time to indulge in petty politics and the blame game.
