Former I G surrenders in court

Earlier on Wednesday, Judge V K Kashyap had ordered his release on a personal bond of Rs one lakh.
According to the prosecution, Mr Pande, while posted as I G in the Bastar range, committed irregularities for financial gains in connivance with his associate Arun Sharma in the recruitment of constables on the basis of fake domicile certificates showing some youths from Morena as bonafide residents of Bastar.
After issuance of the arrest warrant, Mr Pande, who retired as Additional Director General of Police in Chhattisgarh, was given anticipatory bail from the Chhattisgarh High Court, directing him to seek regular bail from the special court within 60 days.
