Former HPCC President passes away
Dharamshala, Sep 15 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) President Kunj Behari Lal Butail passed away today following cardic arrest after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
He was 73.
He his survived by wife, Sudesh Butail, one son and three daughters.
The sources said Butial, who was ailing for the last one year, breathed his at his residence in Palampur town of Kangra district at 0325 hrs.
The Congress party leader's mortal remains were consigned to flames later in the evening.
Butail was the elder brother of political advisor to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Brij Behari Lal Butail.
State Governor V S Kokje and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh have condoled his death.
The Chief Minister, in his condolence message, said he was a statesman and a dedicated worker of the Congress Party who contributed significantly as PCC President and MLA in strengthening the Party and the state.
