Eye witness confirms politicians'involvement in murder
Patna, Sept 15 (UNI) An eye-witness of the infamous Bihar's former minister Brijbihari Prasad murder case deposed in court today, reaffirming his statement alleging involvement of a number of high profile politicians in the murder.
CBI today produced a contractor of Motihari district Shashibhushan Singh as its 42nd prosecution witness in the case before the additional district and sessions judge of Patna Ramnivas Prasad.
The witness said while he was on evening walk in the premises of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) along with Brijbihari Prasad and others, ten to twelve people came there on two vehicles and opened fire from arms upon the former Minister and his security guard on June 13, 1998 killing Mr Prasad. The witness identified the assailants as Bhupendra Debey, Sriprakash Shukla, Mantu Tiwari, Munna Shukla and Rajan Tiwari.
Mr Surajbhan Singh, MP, and Legislators Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla and Shashi Kumar Rai, former MLA Rajan Tiwari were facing the trial in the case.
