EU's Solana cites progress in Iran nuclear talks
BRUSSELS, Sep 15 (Reuters) European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana said today he was ''really making progress'' in talks with Iran on its nuclear programme.
''I think I can say honestly that we're making progress. It doesn't mean that everything has be solved. That would be an exaggeration, but we are really making progress,'' he told a news conference after briefing EU foreign ministers on his contacts with Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani.
Solana gave no detail on the substance of the talks, aimed at averting U.N. sanctions and launching negotiations with major powers on nuclear cooperation with Iran. But he said his officials and Iranian officials were meeting every day to work on the outstanding issues.
