Emulex opens India Development Centre

Bangalore, Sep 15 (UNI) Emulex Communications Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Emulex Corporation and a leader in stgorage networking connectivity, launched its India operations here on Thursday byu opening its new technology development Centre, the first outside the United States.

Emulex Corporation's Chief Financial Officer Michael Rockenbach inaugurated the facility.

Emulex established its initial presence in Bangalore when it acquired Aarohi Communications in May 2006.

Mr Rockenbach said, "Emulex is at the forefront of providing highest quality SAN connectivity solutions. Emulex is further expanding its diverse product portfolio to serve the 10Gb/s data centre networking and intelligent storage platforms marketsegments.

The Bangalore development center with its expertise in both Ethernet and Fibre Channel technologies plays an important role in delivering products that cater to these segments. The expansion of the development centre here will be a further catalyst for continued growth and efficient global operations." According to Shanti Subbaraman, Head of Bangalore Development Centre the Centre was involved in leading edge ASIC and embedded software product development. The expansion of the development center in Bangalore was Emulex's further endorsement of the team's capabilities and one that strengthens the development environment to continue to produce high quality products for our customers.

The 14,000 sq ft new research and development facility could house 100 engineers.
