CPI(ML) would work as constructive opposition in J'khand;Dipankar
Ranchi, Sep 15 (UNI) Maintaining ambiguity over the party's role in supporting the UPA during confidence motion in Jharkhand Assembly, the CPI (ML) today said it would work as a constructive opposition in the House.
Addressing a press conference here, party's National Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said the CPI (ML) has always raised its voice as a responsible opposition and would like to maintain the role of a constructive opposition.
The CPI (ML) had one MLA in the House.
Replying to a query, Mr Bhattacharya said they could think of other options if the minimum democratic programme of the party released today was considered by the new government.
The six-point democratic programme comprise cancellation of all the MOUs signed by the last BJP-led NDA government, stern action against Dipak Verma, Superintendent of Police of Garwah, compensation package for the dependents who died during Jharkhand agitation, proper rehabilitation policy for displaced, Panchayat election in state according to PAX, and proper implementation of Chotanagpur Tenancy Act and Santhal Paragana Tenancy act in Jharkhand.
Expressing doubts over the integrity of the leader of UPA legislatures, he said Mr Koda started his political career as an RSS cadre and was minister in the last BJP-led NDA government in Jharkhand.
'' Though he is now an Independent candidate and UPA had elected him as the Chief Ministerial candidate, but we doubt whether he would be a secular leader'', Mr Bhattacharya said.
He said the BJP-led NDA government fell because of its anti-people policy.
