Cloudy day, mercury rises to 33.8 degrees Celsius
New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) A day after Delhi received heavy rains, an overcast sky helped maintain coolness in the weather, continuing to bring relief from the sultry conditions of last week.
Though the maximum temperature during the day rose to 33.8 degrees Celsius, the predominantly cloudy weather in Delhi, interspersed with brief sunny intervals, maintained coolness in the air.
After a lull in rainfall of over a week, heavy showers lashed Delhi yesterday. About 52 mm of rainfall was recorded in Delhi.
The rainfall led to the minimum temperature dropping almost four degrees to 22.9 degrees Celsius, from 26 degrees Celsius yesterday while the maximum fell from 36 degrees Celsius on Wednesday to 30.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, four degrees below normal.
The weatherman has forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas of Delhi during the next 24 hours.
