Chouhan justifies RSS decision
Jabalpur, Sep 15 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today justified the decision to lift a ban on government officials from taking part in RSS activities.
''The RSS is a cultural organisation involved in nation building and has inspired several lakh workers in doing service for the country. Taking this into consideration, the government has lifted the ban on its officials imposed by the previous Congress regime,'' Mr Chouhan told reporters at the airport here.
He denied any cabinet expansion in near future and said appointments to the boards were being made as per requirement.
The Chief Minister described Madhya Pradesh being declared 'fastest moving state' at the India Today Conclave as a rare honour for the state, which was struggling to come out of 'Bimaru' tag until recent past.
Mr Chouhan said he had learnt from media about the Governor seeking some information regarding the Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act. However, he had no information in this regard.
He said he regularly met the Governor and any information sought by him would be provided.
