Business Objects launches its R
Mumbai, Sep 15: A leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, Business Objects, today announced the launch of a new Research&Development (R&D) centre in Bangalore.
Briefing the mediapersons on the topic here today, the company CEO, John Schwarz said that the R&D centre, to be known as India Development Centre will focus on delivering technology and services to allow our regional cuistomers to maximise the benefits of their investments in Business Objects solutions.
India and the the larger Asia Pacific regions are important markets for our company and we look forward to building on the strength of this region, he added. Currently, the Nasdaq-listed firm is staffed with over 200 software engineers.
Vice president at the India Development Centre of the company in Bangalore Mr Srivibhavan Balaram said on the occasion that the centre will play a key role in the overall Business Objects product development group to continue creating the market's leading BI solutions.
Talking about the market share of the product worldwide, John said taht it was 15 billion USD. ''But our share of it was merely 1 billion USD'', he accepted. Coming to Indian market for the product, he said that it was worth 17 million USD most of which was being contributed by the small business organisations in the country, he added.
