BJP demands sacking of Mah minister Baba Siddique sacking
Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP today demanded that Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies Baba Siddique be sacked for accompanying film actor and blasts accused Sanjay Dutt in the TADA court on September 12.
Addressing a press conference, state BJP leader and former MP Dr Kirit Somaiyya said the state minister not only accompanied Dutt, a blasts accused to the court but travelled in his official car and even opened the door of the car in which Sanjay was travelling for him to come out.
''Such behaviour on part of the minister is unpardonable. The Chief Minister should sack him immediately. Sanjay attends the court proceedings as an accused and is on bail'', Dr Somaiya said.
Demanding capital punishment for convicted terrorists, the BJP leader said 50,000 persons have signed a representation to be given to the governemnt demanding death sentence. He said ''Aatankwadi ko Phaansi Do'', (hang the terrorists) campaign against terrorism was launched by a blast survivor Kamal Khemka on September ten. He said one lakh signatures would be obtained and submitted to the government on September 21.
''We will demand status of the other blasts cases in Mumbai also'', Dr Somaiya said.BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu and state president Nitin Gadkari will address a public meeting tommorrow at Mulund as part of the ''hang the terrorists'' campaign. He said he had addressed more than 50 meetings in the eastern suburbs so far.
Replying to a question on his party's stand regarding the Nanded blasts early this year in which Hindu outfits like VHP and Bajrang Dal were allegedly involved, Dr Somaiya said the two organisations had denied their role in the incidents. ''It is not a question of Hindu or Muslim organisations, we want terrorists against whom charges have been proved to be hanged till death'', he added.
