Army convoy attacked in Kashmir: soldier dies, 3 injured

Srinagar, Sep 15 (UNI) An Army personnel was killed and three others were wounded when militants attacked an army convoy in north Kashmir, a defence ministry spokesman said.

However, a Baramulla report said eight Army personnel were injured. One of the injured later died in the hospital.

Spokesman said militants attacked the convoy with automatic weapons at Watergam on Baramulla-Handwara road in north Kashmir this afternoon.

He said four soldiers were injured in the attack. Two of the critically wounded were airlifted and admitted in base hospital where one of them died.

Baramulla report said 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) have launched a massive search operation in the entire area to nab the militants responsible for the attack.

The convoy was on way to Baramulla from Handwara when it was attacked.
