Army convoy attacked in Kashmir; eight soldiers wounded

Srinagar, Sep 15 (UNI) Eight army personnel were injured when militants attacked an army convoy in north Kashmir, official sources said today.

A report from Baramulla said militants attacked the convoy with automatic weapons at Watergam on Baramulla-Handwara road in north Kashmir this afternoon.

Eight soldiers were injured in the attack, it said, adding 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) have launched a massive search operation in the entire area to nab the militants responsible for the attack.

They said the convoy was on way to Baramulla from Handwara when it was attacked.

A defence ministry spokesman in Srinagar confirming the incident said according to the initial reports two soldiers were wounded in the attack.
