Adaptec expands its distribution network in India

Bangalore, Sep 15 (UNI) Eyeing the growing domestic market, Adaptec Inc, a global player in storage solutions, today extended the distribution rights of Ingram Micro (India).

Briefing newspersons about the new move, Demetri Christodoulou, Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand and South Asia said now all Adaptec products would now be available through Ingram distribution network throughout India.

Ingram micro was the world's largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company. Its Indian operation was a major link in the computer distribution chain in the sub-continent.

Under the terms in the new agreement, Ingram would now distribute Adaptec products ranging from the new Unified Serial solutions to revatilised range of Snap Server network storage products, which catered from home user to enterprise level network storage, he said.

Mr Christodoulou said the company's unified serial controllers seamlessly support both Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial ATA (SATA) drives in order to maximise performance, scalability and flexibility for storage infrastructures.

These solutions also offered most advanced data protection features, including dual disk drive failure protection (RAID 6) and hot space (RAID 5EE). By leveraging the same software management interface, Adaptec simplified managing RAID data volumes, disk utilisation provisioning, diagnostics and storage expansion, he added.

Meanwhile, Adaptec today appointed Deepak S Naik as Business Development Manager, to expand company's business in India.
