7 accused of cow slaughter arrested

Lakhimpur Kheri, Sep 15 (UNI) Police today arrested seven of the nine people, accused of cow slaughter in the district.

Police superintendent Zaki Ahmad Khan said here the alleged cow slaughter incident occurred on September eight at village Lavahi in Nighasan area.

A mob had indulged in arson following the incident demanding strict action in the case.

Meanwhile, police and PAC jawans had been deployed in the area and senior officials keeping a close watch on the situation.
