Sensex trades at 11,900 mark in opening move
Mumbai, Sept 14: The Bombay Stock Exchange sensitive Index (Sensex) gained 43 points to open at 11,936.80 as cement stocks rallied on the back of favourable predictions for the close of monsoon.
Major cement stocks were all trading up. ACC and Guajrat Ambuja were up by 1.50 and 1.55 per respectively.
Currently sensex is trading at 11,952.56 which is 59 points more than the previous close.
Amongst the sectoral indices on the BSE all were trading in the green, led by metals which has gained 0.96 per cent, followed by oil&gas which was up by 0.91 per cent. Health Care is up by 0.91 per cent and IT sector is up by 0.78 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 Sensex were Dr Reddy's lab, Grasim, Satyam, Gujarat Ambuja, ACC, TCS, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Ranbaxy, and ICICI all up between 0.87 and 3.21 per cent.
The losers were Reliance Communications, Hero Honda, HDFC Bank, HDFC, NTPC, HLL, Reliance Energy, Maruti Udyog, and Tata Motors, all down between 0.10 to 1.96 per cent.
