1993 blasts: Mohamad Ghansar found guilty

Mumbai, Sep 14: All eyes were on Mohamad Shoaib Ghansar who was found guilty today for his involvement in the serial bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai on the fateful Friday of March 12,1993.

The designated TADA court was assembled at 1100 hrs, but the accused was brought into the court only at 1215 hrs from the jail.

Ghansar was wearing a white kurta and pyjama. He was carrying a string of beads in his hand.

When he was called near the witness box while delivering the verdict, he was escorted by three policemen.

When Judge P D Kode began delivering the verdict, he listened to it patiently. He did not react immediately to it. But later, when he was found guilty, he said he wanted to address the court.

However, Judge Kode rejected his plea, saying he could address the court later when it will decide about the quantum of punishment.

Finally, he went to the box and reoccupied his seat.
