TNCC observers to study party chances in local polls
Chennai, Sept 13 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee today appointed observers for each revenue district in the state to study the party's victory prospects in the ensuing local body elections.
TNCC President M Krishnasamy said in a statement the observers would visit the districts and collect feedback from the local units.
They would then convene a meeting at which local leaders, including representatives from all wings of the party, should give their views in writing about the party's prospects.
The observers would spend at least three days in the districts and after getting feedback, would submit a report to the TNCC.
As the local body elections would be held based on Revenue District limits, two observers had been appointed for each revenue district, he said. Chennai district would have six observers - two each for North Chennai, Central Chennai and South Chennai, he added.
