Allahabad, Sep 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today pulled up State Election Commission (SEC) for being unable to set up Nyaya Panchayats in the state resulting in undesirable load on the other courts.

Chief Justice Mr A N Ray and Mr Justice Ashok Bhushan issued a mandamus on a Public Interest Petition directing the SEC to file reply in four weeks.

The petitioner's counsels in their arguments said that the Nyaya Panchayats had not been set up since last twenty years which had resulted in a load on the distrcit courts.

Owing to the absence of Nyaya Panchayats, the rural population had been unable to get justice at the local level and was forced to move to District courts and the High Court, they further argued.
