Schlumberger, Infosys form alliance

Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) IT bellwether Infosys Technologies and Schlumberger, the world's leading oil field services company, have formed a global alliance to provide comprehensive information management solutions that integrate upstream technical and business processes for oil and gas companies.

The pact would address a wide array of solutions, primarily focused on the integration of exploration and production, petrotechnical data and applications, including unstructured data, with financial and human resources back-end systems to streamline operational and strategic business decision-making processes, according to a release from Infosys here today.

Schlumberger Informations Solutions President Olivier Le Peuch said that ''by aligning with Infosys, Schlumberger brings customers a much needed combination of technology, domain expertise and systems integration capability on a global, enterprise scale.'' Infosys' Energy Business Unit Head Naren Koduvattat said ''the alliance would provide end-to-end solutions, integrating petrotechnical data with other relevant business systems, which is atypical in the market today.''
