Man posing as CBI official arrested in Punjab
Phagwara, Sep 13 (UNI) The Punjab Police today arrested the man who had been cheating the public by posing as a CBI official and an employee of the Punjab School Education Board.
According to ASP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, the imposter identified as Sohan Lal was picked up by the police from his home in Rihana Jattan village near here. He has been booked under various sections of the IPC.
Dr Gill said that Sohan Lal had cheated several people in various districts of Punjab and adjoining Himachal Pardesh on the pretex of getting them a job. A few days back he took Rs 1.60 lakh from a villager on the promise of getting his son a job, he added.
The police recovered forged identity cards of the CBI and the School Education Board from his residence. Several fake documents including marksheets of various schools were also recovered.
