Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists arrested
Bangalore, Sept 13: The city police have arrested 12 activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike when they tried to picket the room of BJP Legislator Abhay Patil at the Legislators' Home this afternoon.
The activists shouted slogans against the Legislator in protest against the stand taken by the latter on the issue of merging Belgaum with neighbouring Maharashtra. They locked up the MLA's room and sat on a dharna.
The agitators were, however, removed from the place by the Vidhana Soudha police and taken into custody. The police also removed the lock put up by the Vedike activists.
Mr Patil, who was not in the room during the agitation, was reportedly away from the city.
