CPI calls countrywide strike on Dec 14
Jabalpur, Sep 13 (UNI) Equating the Centre's UPA regime with its predecessor NDA government, the CPI today announced a countrywide strike on December 14 against alleged anti-labour policies.
''There is no special difference between the two regimes' economic policies. Police force was used to break up labour unions.
Labourers are being neglected,'' CPI parliamentary party leader Gurudas Dasgupta told journalists.
Pointing out that the communist parties were supporting the Congress for keeping the BJP-led NDA out of power, he claimed that Left pressure was preventing the UPA government from hiking fuel prices.
Expressing concern over increasing harassment of minorities in Madhya Pradesh, Comrade Dasgupta warned of a satyagraha.
