Call rates flat at 6.00-6.10 pc level, bonds high

Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) Call rates traded flat at 6.00-6.10 per cent, amidst moderate demand and sufficient liquidity.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the call money market on September 12 transacted Rs 16,822.05 crore at the weighted average of 6.11 per cent.

In the first Liquidity adjustment, the central bank transacted Rs 18,090 crore through 16 bids at the rate of 6.00 per cent.

RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.

Gilts edged higher after paring early losses, as the crude oil price declined globally. The ten-year bond (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) traded at 101.92 and gave a yield of 7.79 per cent.

Today, the apex bank fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 46.22 per US dollar as compared to the previous rate of Rs 46.34 per USD.
