AAPSU serves ultimatum to Arunachal CM
Itanagar, Sep 13 (UNI) All Arunachal Pradesh Student's Union (AAPSU) has threatened to take its own course of action if Chief Minister Gegong Apang failed to concede their three-point charter of demands within twenty days.
Addressing mediapersons here today, AAPSU President Kanu Bagang informed that its demands included immediate cancellation of illegal appointment of 21 Child Development Project Officers in the Social Welfare, Women&Child development department, stopping private tutions of government teachers and stop granting ST certificates to Mishing community.
On the illegal appointments, Mr Bagang alleged that the Social Welfare and Child Development department neither gave any advertisement for these posts nor followed proper recruitment norms.
Condemning this act, the Union demanded immediate cancellation of ''unfair'' recruitment and hold proper recruitment procedure.
On private practicing by teachers in government schools, the AAPSU president said they were not dutiful in the school and urged the government to issue a clear-cut notification in this regard to stop private tuitions by the government teachers.
On granting ST certificates by the government to Mishing tribes, Mr Bagang said, ''Arunachal is like a mini-India and we are not against any tribes or community'', he said.
''Arunachal is the only state where community clashes never take place. But giving certificates to Mishing tribes, who are originally from Asom, might create a lot of problems for the indigenous tribes in the state,'' he added.
