Warm reception accorded to DMK president

Pondicherry, Sep 12: A warm reception was accorded to DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at Kanagachettikkulam, bordering Pondicherry, before he arrived here enroute to Thiruvarur today.

Mr Karunanidhi, who is scheduled to participate in a government function and a reception by the CPI at Thiruvarur, reached Kanagachettikkulam at 1050 hrs where the DMK workers led by party convener R V Janakiraman were waiting for the arrival of their leader.

All the DMK Pondicherry legislators except V M C Sivakumar were present at Kanagachettikulam. Mr Karunanidhi slowed down his vehicle and accepted bouquet and shawls from them.

Before proceeding to Tiruvarur, Mr Karunanidhi halted at a private hotel here for sometime.
