State Govt to host three-day Dussehra festival in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Sep 12 (UNI) The State Government will host a three-day ''Dussehra'' festival here from September 30.

Maharashtra Tourism and Rural Development Minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil told reporters here today that the festival will be organised by the State Government and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) with a view to promote the rich arts and culture tradition of kolhapur.

Popular actor Hema Malini will stage a dance programme on the inaugural day. Musical dramas, a ballad singing competition, a ''lavani'' competition, folk dances, wrestling competition, and a musicial programme by play-back singer Suresh Wadkar are among the plethora of events planned during the three days of the festival, the Minister informed.
