Mumbai, Sep 12 (UNI) Leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Ramdas Kadam today demanded the establishment of 'Fast Track courts' for the speedy disposal of blast cases.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Kadam said the verdict of March 1993 bomb blasts case was delivered in 2006 and such a delay creates problems for witnesses also. In such a situation, the fast track courts should be established for the speedy disposal of the cases.

Asked about the BJP's claim on Chimur seat of assembly where the by-election is going to be held soon, he said his party (Shiv Sena) was allotted this seat for a term of five years. So the Sena has its claim over the same. However, this issue could be sorted out in the meeting of the party leaders, he said.

He also demanded the removal of Kavita Gupta, the finance secretary in-charge of lottery department since 1999. He alleged that the two big lottery owners -- M/s Martin and M/s Sugal Damani -- are allegedly protected by Ms Gupta.

Criticising the state government's decision of imposing Rs 50,000 tax on every lottery draw, Mr Kadam said the decision will affect the business of small lottery owners and demanded the withdrawal of the same.
