Ranchi bound Air Sahara flight makes emergency landing in Varanasi

Varanasi, Sep 12 (UNI) A Delhi-Ranchi flight S26163 of Air Sahara today made an emergency landing here at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport after it developed a technical snag.

Deputy Commandant CISF Rohitash Kumar, incharge of airport security, told UNI that the plane, having 49 passengers on board, made an emergency landing here at 1750 hrs.

According to sources, among the passengers was Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, who was accompanying a Jharkhand MLA to Ranchi.

The Arjun Munda government in Jharkhand will face a crucial confidence vote in the assembly on September 14.

The plane is still at the Varanasi airport and arrangements were being made to send the passengers to Ranchi by another plane, Mr Kumar said.
