Police detain six persons at Raja Sansi airport
Amritsar, Sep 12 (UNI) The Punjab police today detained six people after they alighted from an Air Slovakia flight at the Raja Sansi international airport here following information that they were deported by the Italian authorities due to certain discrepancies in their travel documents.
Police said the six, all from Punjab, were picked up from outside the airport terminal after immigration and customs clearance. They were detained on the basis of information received by the state police from central intelligence agencies.
Police officals said that the six had boarded the Birmingham-Amritsar flight at Rome.
The central agencies had received information that all the six were deported by the Italian authorities after certain discrepancies were found in their travel documents.
Police said the six people, who were being questioned, have been identified as Sukhminder Singh, Sagar Singh, Raj Kumar, Jaswinder Singh, Jagmeet Singh and Chaman Lal.
