Islamabad, Sep 12 (UNI) Pakistan government is to dispatch two more relief flights containing 20 tons of medicines, food items and blankets to Lebanon.

''The relief goods are being dispatched on the instructions of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz'', Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said in a statement issued here today.

On Saturday, Pakistan announced to send a special contingent to Lebanon exclusively for de-mining operations and clearing of debris, including unexploded bombs in southern Lebanon.

Ms Aslam said the consignment would reach Beirut airport on September 13, consequent to the recent lifting of aerial and naval blockade by the Israeli government.

The Ambassador of Pakistan in Beirut will hand over the humanitarian aid supplies to the Lebanese Relief Commission.

Pakistan had earlier dispatched four plane-loads of relief supplies to Lebanon during the 34-day conflict.

Mr Aziz had committed additional humanitarian assistance to Lebanon during his visit to Beirut and meetings with the Lebanese leadership on September 4.
