One suspected case of leptospirosis in Ahmedabad city
Ahmedabad, Sep 12 (UNI) One case of suspected leptospirosis has been detected in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, a civic body official today said.
Confirming this, Ahmedabad Muncipal Corporation's Health officer S P Kulkarni said the case has been detected in Khanpur.
He said blood and urine samples have been sent to Surat for detailed medical examination.
Symptoms of leptospirosis includes high fever, severe headache, chills, muscle aches, and vomiting, and may include jaundice, red eyes, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or a rash.
The city is already grappling with the alarming spread of chikun guniya, that has had over 20,000 people with stiff joints and high fever.
