Night vision device for Kashi Vishwanath security

Varanasi, Sep 12 (UNI) With terror threat looming large on places of worship across the country, the security personnel at the highly sensitive Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex here will soon be equipped with night vision devices.

''The night vision goggles and binoculars will be provided to security personnel posted on rooftops in the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanwapi complex to timely detect and foil any terrorist misadventure through the aerial route during nights,'' Additional Police Superintendent (Gyanwapi Security) Jugal Kishore Tiwari told UNI here today.

These night vision devices will be helpful in thwarting any aerial attacks, especially a rocket-launcher strike on the complex, the ASP added.

Equipping the security personnel with night vision devices is likely to be followed by installation of German 'speed doors' at three entry points. The installation of this vital facility in line with similar arrangements at Siddhi Vinayak Temple in Mumbai will ensure that no ultra could get into the complex, Mr Tiwari said.

These doors, when installed, will be controlled through the central security control room of the complex. The CCTVs in the control room helped the security to scan each and every person entering and leaving the complex, Mr Tiwari said, adding, that if any suspicious individual would be spotted, the speed doors would immediately be closed.

In case the suspicious element managed to somehow sneak into the complex despite the speed doors, the three turnstile also proposed for the complex would do the remaining work.

''The suspicious element will be trapped between the speed doors and turnstiles and then taken care off by quick reaction teams (QRTs) of Central Reserve Police and the PAC commandoes,'' Mr Tiwari said.
