Kidnapped businessman rescued in Asom

Mangaldai, Sept 12 (UNI) A kidnapped businessman of Tangla town in Udalguri district of Asom was rescued by police late last night from Balipara village under Kolaigaon police station of the district.

Police informed that one Raju Kumar Agarwala, who owned a grocery shop in Tangla town, was kidnapped on September 9 by a group of armed youths.

The kidnapping was for extortion, police added.

The person was rescued last night after police raided the village during the day following clues.

The rescued person was abondoned in the car, used for the kidnapping, police said.

Investigation was on to identify the kidnappers.
