Junior film artist found hanging in her house

Chennai, Sep 12 (UNI) A junior film artist allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Bhakthavatsalam Colony here today.

Police said Priyadarshini (19), daughter of Hemavathy was found hanging in her room, when the parents broke open the door as it had been locked from inside since last night.

The artist left behind a note stating that she had decided to take the extreme step as she could not meet her sister Kalavathy, who was in Sri Lanka.

A police team visited the house and conducted preliminary enquiries.

Later, the body was shifted to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem, police added.
