JK NCP to send 60-member delegation for party convention in Dehradun
Jammu, Sep 12 (UNI) A 60-member delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by president Thakur Randhir Singh, will take part in a national convention of the party, at Dehradun on September 16 and 17.
Union Minister for Agriculture and Food and also the national President of NCP Sharad Pawar will chair the convention to be attended by the party's top brass from all over the country.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here along with hundreds of other people, Mr Singh welcomed the developments in Kerala and said Mr K Karunakaran and his followers' support will make the party a force to reckon with right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
He said the party has clear political and socio-economic agenda on India's glorious principles of secularism, communal harmony, justice, development, peace and property.
Welcoming the new entrants to the NCP, Mr Singh said the party would maintain its separate identity and fight ensuing assembly elections in the state on its own by fielding candidates for all the constituencies in Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh region.
Mr Ram Rattan Khajuria, a new entrant in the party was appointed as state secretary of state unit.
Commenting upon the latest situation in the state he said people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh were disillusioned with the coalition experiment in state.
