Isolated rains in HP

Shimla, Sep 12 (UNI) Isolated rains lashed parts of Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, while people in other parts of the state had respite from wet conditions during the last 24 hours, the met office said today.

Isolated places in Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Shimla districts of the state received light rains during the last 24, even as the weather remained dry in the other parts of the state, The met office said Dharamshala in Kangra district was the wettest place in the district, receiving 21.6 mm of rain followed by 9.5 at Palampur, nine mm at Solang Nullah and 7.5 mm at Sunni in Shimla district.

Jogindernagar in Mandi also recorded six mm of rain, while Bhang Manali in Kullu district and Kalpa in Kinnuar district recorded 3.6 and 2.5 mm rain respectively during the last 24 hrs till 0830 hrs, it said.

The day broke out on a bright note in Shimla and other adjoining areas before clouds covered the sky in the afternoon.

However, by 1730 hrs, the sky was clearing again with sun peeping from behind the clouds.

The state capital recorded a night temperature of 14.2 degrees and a day temperature of 22, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded night temperatures of 19.7 and 19.3 degree Celsius and day temperatures of 30.6 and 30.1 degree Celsius respectively.

The met office has predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places in the state during the last 24 hrs.
